Cuts, grazes & minor burns

Cuts, grazes and minor burns

Cuts and grazes are common once children reach the age when they’re always running around outdoors. Little accidents happen and Sudocrem is always on hand to help.

Use a dab of Sudocrem Antiseptic Healing Cream on the affected area to soothe and heal sore skin. Your little ones will be up and running around again in no time, comparing their war wounds.

Treatment for abrasions

Abrasions are caused when little elbows or knees are scraped, leaving an area that’s red and tender. Cleanse with a clean cloth or cotton wool swab using water and a touch of mild soap. Then apply Sudocrem Antiseptic Healing Cream to reduce the risk of infection. Sudocrem also contains a mild local anaesthetic, which will help soothe the pain.

Treatment for small cuts

Small cuts should be treated like an abrasion, by thoroughly washing the affected area and then placing it under running water to ensure all the dirt is washed out. Then apply a small amount of Sudocrem before covering with a plaster. When the cut starts to heal you can remove the plaster to expose the cut to fresh air, helping the healing process.

Treatment for larger cuts

Deep cuts may require medical attention, especially if the bleeding is heavy. Raising the injury above the heart can help slow down the bleeding. If you suspect the cut could be infected or you have any concerns, consult your doctor as soon as possible.

Minor burns

Small burns can be very painful so it helps to cool down the area as quickly as possible. If you can, hold the affected area under cool or lukewarm water for a several minutes until the pain subsides. Applying Sudocrem Antiseptic Healing Cream can also help to soothe sore and tender skin. If symptoms persist or if there are side effects, please consult your doctor.

Eczema, chilblains & pressure sores

Eczema, also known as dermatitis, is a skin condition with symptoms that vary from person to person. In mild cases of eczema the skin is red, dry and scaly which can make the area itchy. In more severe cases there may be weeping, crusting and bleeding. Eczema affects people off all ages and it is very common in children.

According to the National Eczema Society around one in five children and one in twelve adults has eczema.

If you know someone who suffers from eczema you’ll understand how important it is to keep the skin soft and supple. Sudocrem Antiseptic Healing Cream can be used effectively for this purpose and can ease the itchy feeling caused by the condition. The active ingredients maintain the skin’s natural moisture and work to keep it healthy, soft and supple.

Chilblains are small swellings on the skin usually caused by cold temperatures. They often affect toes, fingers, heels, ears and noses. Chilblains can be uncomfortable, but the good news is that they can be prevented.

The best way to prevent chilblains is to limit your exposure to the cold, but this is of course not always possible. Sudocrem Antiseptic Healing Cream can soothe and relieve the discomfort and promote skin healing.

Pressure sores

Pressure sores, also known as bedsores or pressure ulcers, are caused when skin is placed under pressure for long periods of time. This pressure disrupts blood flow, the skin becomes starved of oxygen and it begins to break down.

To prevent pressure sores, change position frequently or use supports (such as a specially designed cushion or mattresses) to protect the body. If you know someone who is suffering from pressure sores then Sudocrem Antiseptic Healing Cream can help to treat the condition, relieve the pain and create a barrier to help protect the skin from infection. If symptoms persist, consult a doctor as soon as possible.

Acne & Spots

Acne and spots

Acne is a common skin condition which affects almost everyone at some point. The condition causes spots to develop on the skin, usually on the face.

Acne often affects teenagers and young adults and is most common in girls between the ages of 14 and 17, and in boys between the ages of 16 and 19.

How to protect against acne

Wash the affected area regularly with a mild soap or cleanser and avoid scrubbing the skin or causing irritation. You should also try not to pick or squeeze spots as this can lead to scarring and spreading. Apply Sudocrem Antiseptic Healing cream on to the affected areas as required.

Dealing with spots

Sudocrem can be used first thing in the morning and last thing at night to help soothe, moisturise and reduce the redness of spot prone skin.
